Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse

Mackinaw Point marks the junction of Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. Founded in 1889, the Old Mackinac Point Light Station was in operation from 1890 until 1957. The lighthouse sits In Mackinaw City, Michigan, and can be seen from I-75 as you travel north or south on the Interstate. The Mackinaw Bridge, connecting Michigan's upper and lower peninsulas, now serves as the chief navigational aid for Great Lakes traffic. (2012)
