Michigan's upper peninsula is a place of marvelous beauty. Like many places, you must know where you are going or else all that you will see is trees. The peninsula is surrounded by Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, and the State of Wisconsin on the west. The peninsula is not at any main crossroads of America, so it is little visited and not well known by outsiders. I have often said a fence could be put around it to designate it as a National Park.
