Weather-Beaten Tree At Olmsted Point

This old, weather-beaten tree presented itself atop a huge boulder at Olmsted Point. Yosemite National Park is constantly surprising its visitors with one beautiful sight after another. A friend told me, "I belive this is a Joshua Pine. Some are over 1,000 years old. The wind molds and shapes them into these fantastic natural sculptures." Someone else has suggested it is a Bristlecone Pine. It looks to be some sort of cedar to me. I have not determined what type of tree it is other than a beautiful tree.(2014)
